BOS Outlet introduces an innovative and scalable urban concept that transforms vacant and outdated shopping streets into vibrant urban meeting places.
For years, local governments have been seeking sustainable ways to address urban vacancy. BOS Outlet therefore enjoys broad support from local authorities, including the Minister-President of Flanders, as evidenced by his recent correspondence, as well as the Diplomatic World Institute, an international think tank focused on analyzing social and societal issues. The Institute seeks and provides solutions to help build a fairer and more sustainable society.
Numerous influential business leaders and political figures also support BOS Outlet as members of the advisory board or as partners. They recognize the urgent need to revitalize outdated and vacant shopping streets with a fresh, forward-looking concept that meets the needs of today and tomorrow, preserving the social fabric of the city and preventing further isolation.
BOS Outlet is a unique, integrated urban concept that combines physical and digital experiences with attention to aesthetics, safety, mobility, ample parking, co-working spaces, meeting rooms, cafés with lounges, public restrooms, family-friendly facilities (indoor and outdoor playgrounds), and pickup points for online orders. BOS Outlet creates a forward-thinking ecosystem, a vibrant place where retail, hospitality, concept stores, local production, and logistics reinforce one another, reconnecting brands with their audiences.
The first pilot projects are being developed in Antwerp (Merksem), Boom, and Ostend (Oosteroever),
with growing interest from Leuven, Ghent, Mechelen, Brussels, and Amsterdam. The focus is on a
successful rollout in these initial pilot cities before expanding to other regions and countries.
About BOSOUTLET
Flyn Wynen and Rudi Wynen, founders of BOS Outlet, developed the idea in early 2024 from an urgent need: the vacancy in shopping streets such as Bredabaan in Merksem. What started as a local solution quickly grew into a widely supported concept with international interest. How do we meaningfully fill vacancies? How do we create a win-win for brands, customers, and neighbourhoods? BOS Outlet became the answer to those questions. By bringing together a strong network of experts, we developed a plug & play model: a reusable and scalable concept that allows us to quickly transform shopping streets into vibrant outlet zones.The BOS concept: a core of 400 metres consisting of retail units, filled with brand outlet stores, artisan shops, and concept stores. Everything is managed in-house, including logistical facilities, sanitary infrastructure, a children's entertainment zone, and a distribution centre. This is how we build experience and efficiency, for visitors and entrepreneurs. BOS Outlet is more than retail: it is a community, a new purpose for old streets, and a fresh opportunity for brands. And this is just the beginning.
